Matching numbers, matching colours, a complete restoration and overhaul and in one of the most beautiful colours: this Dino is approaching perfection. We admit: the color is of course subjective, but other than that there is really no reason to skip this Dino in your search for a fantastic 246 GT.

The Dino 246 GT you see here was delivered to its first owner in 1972 via Auto Becker in Germany. This is a second series of the 246, where several upgrades compared to early examples speak in its favour. The Dino was restored by a specialist, a well-known and highly regarded name in the field of classic Ferraris. The Dino is already Pre Ferrari Classiche Certified due to the matching colour scheme and original engine.
The result is an exceptionally good and beautiful Dino. The body, which has been completely restored and painted in its original colour, is in new condition. Fittings, paintwork, chrome: there is simply nothing to criticize about the condition. The car stands on the correct Campagnolo wheels, providing an unparalleled appearance.

The interior, made of beautifully matching natural-coloured leather, is also in the original colours. The leather upholstery, including the black stripes on the seats, are exactly as they should be and everything is in excellent condition. Dashboard, Veglia Borletti gauges, steering wheel, carpets, headliner and other parts: 'insanely beautiful' is the first thing that comes to mind.

Not yet completely familiar with the now legendary Dino? Then we would be happy to tell you more. The Dino GT was a driving tribute to Enzo Ferrari's son, Alfredo 'Dino' Ferrari. Dino Ferrari, an engineer, had proposed a smaller engine range in the 1950s, but due to his untimely death in 1956 he never saw his dream come true.
Ultimately, Enzo adopted the 'sub-brand' Dino to serve as a brand that could compete with cars like the Porsche 911. With its mid-mounted V6 allowing for ideal weight distribution and a more streamlined nose, the Dino became a real sports car that was more than worthy of the name Ferrari.

By the way, the V6 is a beautiful engine. 2,419 cc in size, with four overhead camshafts, three Weber 40DCNF/6 carburettors, five-speed manual transmission, independent suspension at all four wheels and disc brakes all around. 195 hp may sound at most 'sporty' nowadays, but at the time it was a very respectable power for a sports car. The fastest regular Porsche, the 911S, had a power that fluctuated between 160 and 190 hp in those years. Other variants of the 911 were (far) below this.

Initially, the Dino had a 2.0-liter six-cylinder, but in 1969 this was enlarged to the aforementioned 2,419 cc variant, as in this Dino. The Fiat-built power unit, with the cylinder banks at an angle of 65 degrees, has a cast iron block with alloy heads and was enough to catapult the Leonardo Fioravanti-designed 246 GT to great sales success. Although this was not only due to the engine, the very direct and well-communicating steering also played a role.

The Ferrari Dino is constantly increasing in appreciation and that trend will continue, after all, it is one of the most stylish Ferraris ever built.
