The seller offers for sale this 1949 Triumph Roadster 2000, an elegant British cabriolet. This example was imported from Switzerland to Germany in 2004 and underwent a restoration between 1991 and 1992, documented with photographs. The restoration reportedly costed 85,000 Swiss Francs, reflecting the level of care and craftsmanship invested in the vehicle. Since then, the car has been sparingly used, primarily for weddings and special events, and has remained registered year-round in Germany.

Equipped with a 2.0L four-cylinder engine and a manual transmission, the Roadster 2000 delivers a refined, period-accurate driving experience. The exterior retains its paintwork, which has not required any resprays. The car has only been driven in favorable summer weather, which has helped preserve its condition. Inside, the car features a refurbished interior finished in high-grade red leather, including a restored dashboard.

The Triumph Roadster 2000 was produced between 1948 and 1949 as the final evolution of Triumph’s pre-war styling. Featuring flowing lines, a spacious cabin, and a unique rumble seat, it was a luxury-oriented sports car of its time. The model was designed to appeal to customers seeking both elegance and practicality, offering one of the last production cars with a dicky seat, accessible via folding rear panels.

The Roadster 2000 replaced the earlier 1800 model, upgrading from a 1.8L engine to the 2.0L Standard Vanguard unit, which offered improved power and reliability. Only 2,000 examples of the 2000 variant were produced, making it a rare find today. The car’s aluminum body panels, mounted on an ash wood frame, provided durability without excessive weight. It remains a distinctive classic, appreciated for its post-war styling and charming driving characteristics.

This car has been in use for decades since its restoration. While no major flaws are reported, it is a 75-year-old vehicle, and age-related wear may be expected. Buyers should inspect the vehicle to ensure it meets their expectations.
