The 308 GTB is a true classic Ferrari, which replaced its predecessor, the 246 Dino. More than 12, 000 units of the 308 GTB, designed by Pininfarina, were produced. From 1975 to 1977, 800 units were built with a polyester body , but after that the 308 was produced only with a steel body.
In addition, only the European version was supplied with a dry-sump engine, an eight-cylinder engine, with a cylinder capacity of 2926cc for 250 hp.
“Collection by Vermant” is please to be able to offer you this magnificent Ferrari 308 GTBi. This 308 was delivered new by Ferrari Pozzi in Toulouse to its first owner in February of 1982. The first owner only kept the car briefly and sold the car through a dealer to its second owner in 1985 for 145. 000 francs. By then, the 308 had already covered 38. 000kms. The second owner used it more sparingly but maintained the car meticulously. Since his ownership, every single invoice was kept and put into the file of the car. After an impressive 34 years of ownership, he sold the car to the third and final owner. At this point, the car had still only covered a mere 53. 000km.
The third owner set out to make the car impeccable, both mechanically and optically. He spared no expense when restoring the car and spent a total of 42. 000€ on the restoration of the car. This included the restoration of the complete suspension system, the replacement of the entire brake circuit (brake lines, brake discs, brake master cylinder and the brake calipers). The injection and ignition systems were overhauled together with the Cooling and heating system of the car. Not a single item was left untouched to make the car perfect and in almost brand new condition.
Throughout the years, this 308 has been optically refreshed and was repainted in its original shade of Rosso Corsa. Today, the paint is still in excellent condition and enhances the overall condition of the car. Not only exterior wise, but also on the interior there were some refurbishments by the previous owner. The roof lining of this 308 came lose due to the age of the glue and was subsequently replaced with the correct original material. Meaning the car doesn’t only drive excellent, but also looks excellent.
