Our customer offers for sale this 1970 Porsche 914/6, a rare model in the Porsche lineup, featuring a 2.0-liter flat-six engine and manual transmission. Originally supplied to San Francisco, USA, this car spent its early years in California and Arizona before being imported to the UK in 1998. It has been restored, including a bare metal respray in its original metallic silver. Over the years, the car has received numerous documented upgrades, including new heat exchangers, 14-inch Fuchs wheels, and various other mechanical updates to maintain its good condition. In 2024, a new clutch was installed, and a hydraulic tensioner upgrade was fitted to enhance the engine’s long-term reliability. This 914/6 is a presented example, ready to show or drive.

The exterior is in good condition, with the metallic silver paint restored. The interior has also been refurbished, with the seats and door cards replaced to match the original specification. Although the fuel gauge is slightly inaccurate due to infrequent use, all other components function smoothly. The car has passed its inspections without any concerns.

The Porsche 914/6 was a collaborative effort between Porsche and Volkswagen, designed as an affordable entry-level sports car. The 914/6, produced from 1969 to 1972, stood out from the standard 914 with its more powerful 2.0L six-cylinder engine, borrowed from the 911T. This model became a favorite among enthusiasts due to its mid-engine layout, offering a unique driving experience compared to other Porsches of its era. Its lightweight construction and agile handling made it ideal for both road and track use. Today, the 914/6 is highly sought after by collectors, particularly those in concours condition, as only a few thousand were ever produced.

In summary, this 1970 Porsche 914/6 is a rare and collectible example that has been restored. With a low mileage of just over 93,000 miles and extensive documentation of its restoration, this car presents an opportunity for Porsche enthusiasts.
