Brooklands Riley Chassis no 8062 Ownership History 1929- 46 Barney Dentry 1946 Ken Wylie purchased the car and sold it on to Bill Clymer, who later sold the car to Bill Blewett, who was related to Clymer Ron Brownrigg purchased the car in 1964 and is the current owner. Barney Dentry first raced the Brooklands in the Australian Grand Prix at Phillip Island in 1930 A.G.P. 1930 Phillip Island - Placings 6th outright 1st Class B A.G.P. 1931 Phillip Island - Placings 4th outright 1st Class B A.G.P. 1932 Phillip Island - Placings 10th outright A.G.P. 1933 Phillip Island - Dentry did not enter. Race was won by Bill Thompson in a Riley Brooklands A.G.P.1934 Phillip Island - Placings 4th outright A.G.P. 1935 Phillip Island - Placings 5th outright A.G.P. 1936 Victor Harbour S.A - Placings 6th outright A.G.P. 1938 Bathhurst N.S.W - Probably the last time Barney and Bess raced together before retirement. The Brooklands competed at Phillip Island, Nar Nar Goon, Aspendale races, hill climbs, sprints etc. A cozette blower was fitted by Barney in 1931, it appeared in supercharged form at Aspendale in five handicap events. The car was on scratch in all five and managed four first placings and one second. The engine ran normally aspirated in all its A.G.P. appearances.  I completed restoring the Brooklands in time for the Historic Race Meetings at Phillip Island on the 25th, 26th and 27th February 2005. The car performed faultlessly. My son, Mark and I drove it to and from the event and it won its class in both races I have raced at Calder Park, Winton, Sandown, Phillip Island and Speed on Tweed.  At Historic Winton in 2005 the Brooklands won the award for Best Presented car. There were 460 cars entered In the same year at the Riley Motor Club Concours D'Elegance the Brooklands won three awards: First place Pre-war, Best Riley on the Day and Best Coventry Riley  A Certificate of Description No J 0550402 has been issued by C.A.M.S. and the Log Book No.H 1845. C.A.M.S. changed the rule for Ja Historic Cars last year and I had to fit a Roll bar before I could race at Phillip Island. The bar is easily removed when not required and has C.A.M.S. approval.  The Brooklands has Club Registration and comes with easily detachable cycle guards and lights.
